In Christ we have received the Spirit of God.
We need to operate with a biblical world view.
Divisions in the Church
1 Corinthians 3:1 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly--mere infants in Christ.
Hebrews 6:1 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God,

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
The culture must bow to the cross.
You can not find God through man’s wisdom.
1 Corinthians 1:19-20 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
Wisdom from the Spirit
1 Corinthians 2:6-7 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God's wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

1 Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
Biblical unity, not uniformity.
You don’t have to agree on absolutely everything to have unity.
1 Corinthians 4:6 Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other.

The Holy Spirit is the same today as it was in the time of 1 Corinthians.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are to help us be effective.
The Assemblies of God church is a Pentecostal church.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is to equip us for service.
The most powerful thing we can do is to humble ourselves.
Our greatest focus is to recognize that we have been called to let Jesus be Lord.

Fasting is about Turning/Returning to God
This can be for an individual, a congregation, a community, or a nation.
Joel 2:12 “Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” – Fasting is a way to turn from personal pleasure and seek God wholeheartedly.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
We are priests (royal priesthood) and family (holy nation)
Ezekiel 33:10-11 "Son of man, say to the Israelites, 'This is what you are saying: "Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?"' Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?
Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Stand where God has place you.

You need the Old Testament to really understand God.
There is no reason to not live for God with all your heart.
You need to contend for the truth!
We cannot ignore what the Lord has said.
The lord knows how to bring judgment.
God’s delay doesn’t mean He has forgotten you! He will come!
God observes the action of men.
There are consequences of ignoring Him.
You don’t have to be a perfect Christion – just consistent.
