“Do Not Forget the Lord - Part 1” – “Promised Land was on the West side of the Johan.” – 1 Samuel 11:1-15 – Saul defeats the Ammonites * The 2 tribes were separated geographically. * Don’t make treaties with the enemy. * Don’t join in with those who do not have the same biblical view as you. * God wants us to be together. - 1 Samuel 11:6 When Saul heard their words, the Spirit of God came upon him in power, and he burned with anger. - Confirm Your Calling and Election * 2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. * Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

“The Father Heart of God” – “God has something planned for you!” - 1 Samuel 8:19-22 The Lord Grants Israel’s Request * The bible is God’s personal reference. * God does not change from the Old Testament to the New Testament. * God’s was are always best. - 1 Samuel 9 Saul Chosen to Be King * 1 Samuel 9:6 But the servant replied, "Look, in this town there is a man of God; he is highly respected, and everything he says comes true. Let's go there now. Perhaps he will tell us what way to take." - Everything happens for a reason, “NO”, there is a reason everything happens. - * God determines our steps but he does not determine how we will respond. * God askes us, how are you going to respond. * Be faithful where you are serving! God has something planned for you.

God is still with those children that are not right with God right now. * God will use your life to speak to your children. * You are not responsible for their choices. 2. The world is going to hate us just like they hated Jesus. 3. Political problems were rooted in their spiritual problem. * 1 Samuel 8:7-8 And the LORD told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.

"Walking in the-Fear of the Lord" – “We need to honor God” – 1 Samuel 5:1-5 The Philistines and the Ark. - 1 Samuel 5:3 When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! They took Dagon and put him back in his place. * We can become so committed to believing something that no matter what is in front of us, we will not believe it. * We need to seek God first, not the things of God. - Hebrews 3:12-13 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. (13) But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. - 1 Samuel 6:10-12 The Ark Returned to Israel - 1 Samuel 6:12 Then the cows went straight up toward Beth Shemesh, keeping on the road and lowing all the way; they did not turn to the right or to the left. The rulers of the Philistines followed them as far as the border of Beth Shemesh. - Our ultimate purpose must be to let God get what He needs to from us.

Let us bring the ark of the LORD's covenant from Shiloh, so that it may go with us and save us from the hand of our enemies." - The Death of Eli - 1 Samuel 4:18 When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell backward off his chair by the side of the gate. His neck was broken and he died, for he was an old man and heavy. He had led Israel forty years. - Deuteronomy 32:28 They are a nation without sense, there is no discernment in them. * Having a relationship with God is the only way you can win. - Judgment and redemption Isaiah 59:14-19 - God is still there: He looked and saw no one to intervene. * Isaiah 59:14 So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.

“Time is Up, Eli” – “The Lord Calls Samuel” – How do you know we are in God’s plan? - How do you know you are hearing from God? - 1 Samuel 3:7-8 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD: The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him. The LORD called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." Then Eli realized that the LORD was calling the boy. - God will always have a servant. How does God speak to us? - Some of the ways: * Through dreams and visions. * Through confirming prophecy. * Taking time with the Lord and listen. * In times of prayer. * Through the reading of the word. - God is moved by those who humble themselves before Him. - God expects you to be an adult.
